THE STORY BEHIND THE LAB
Every laboratory begins with a simple question.
Mine was:
"How many peppers can one person reasonably grow before it becomes a problem?"
The answer, as it turns out, is considerably fewer than I planted.
What began as a backyard gardening hobby quickly evolved into an obsession with growing increasingly unusual peppers. Each season brought new varieties, bigger harvests, and eventually an entirely new challenge:
What exactly was I supposed to do with all of them?
Rather than let hundreds of homegrown peppers go to waste, I began experimenting with hot sauce recipes. Nights were spent testing ingredients, adjusting heat levels, and documenting results. Some experiments were immediate successes. Others served as valuable learning opportunities.
One early batch filled the house with so much pepper vapor that my family described the experience as a chemical attack and strongly suggested that future experiments be conducted elsewhere.
They were probably right.
Friends began requesting bottles. Then they requested more bottles. Soon the collection of recipes had grown into something larger than a hobby.
Today, Ben's Pain Sauce & Spice Lab continues that tradition of experimentation.
Every sauce begins as a new hypothesis.
Some become customer favorites.
Some become legends.
A few become warnings.
All of them begin in the Lab.
Because the best discoveries rarely happen by accident.
They're the result of curiosity, persistence, and just enough questionable decision-making to keep things interesting.
